We love games in our house! We make good use out of them because we have a 7 year age gap and sometimes the only family activity we can all get through is a fun game. I am sharing 10 of our favorite board games that preschoolers love.

Hungry Hungry Hippo

Age: 4+
Player: 2-4
Playing time: 10 minutes
This is a classic game for the whole family. The marbles drop into a plastic base and you mash a button until your hippo eats as many marbles as possible. It is so much fun! The age range is 4+ but that is probably due to the small marbles because I can see kids as young as 2 really loving this game.

Shopping List

Age: 3-7
Players: 2-4
Playing time: 15 minutes
This is a twist on the memory game. Everyone takes a shopping list and cart, then the memory cards are flipped over. As you turn over the cards you will check your shopping list to see if you need the ingredient. It takes a few games for the younger ones to get it but once they do it is a lot fun.

Honey Bee Tree

Age: 3+
Players: 2-4
Playing time: 15 minutes
This is basically Ker-Plunk dressed up but it is super cute. Players take turns pulling out leaves as the bees fall out of the oak tree. Whoever has the least amount of bees is the winner.

Hi Ho Cherry-O

Age: 3-6
Players: 2-4
Playing time: 10 minutes
This game is great for learning colors and counting. Be the first to empty your tree into the basket to win the game. It requires no reading and is a quick play; perfect for the littlest game players.

Pie Face Game

Age: 5+
Players: 2+
Playing time: 15+ minutes
This is a great way to get everyone laughing! With a dollop of whipped cream on the hand you will turn the crank to see if it slaps back at your face. For every turn without getting splattered you gain a point. It will have your family in stitches.

Candyland

Age: 3+
Players: 2-4
Playing time: 30 minutes
A classic race to Candy Castle is a huge family favorite. It requires no reading and helps to recognize basic colors and simple counting. When my middle child was too little to grasp the concept we just let her play on the board while the rest of us played around her. Everyone was happy!

Colorama

Age: 3+
Player: 1-6
Playing time: 20 Minutes
This is another great introduction to colors but also shapes. It has variations for all skill levels and it fun for all age levels.

Snails Pace Race

Age: 3+
Players: 2-6
Playing time: 10 minutes
Snails Pace Race is a quick and simple kids play. Each player guesses which snail will win the race and you all take turns rolling colored dice to advance the snails. It is a great bonding game and super straight forward.

Richard Scary Busy Town

Age: 3+
Players: 2-4
Playing time: 30 minutes
This is a great active game. There is a giant board and as you advance you search through for hidden objects. It is a lot of fun if you are willing to get on the floor!

Elefun

Age: 3+
Players: 2-4
Playing time: 10 minutes
This is a giggle inducing game of dexterity, movement and coordination. The elephant blows colorful butterflies up and out his trunk. Everyone has a butterfly net and whoever catches the most butterflies wins a token. Who ever wins three tokens first wins the game! The elephant also doubles as a toy and kids love to dance around under the falling butterflies.
