Finding time and figuring out how to invest in self care can be difficult if it is new to you. I say you should start small and discover the things that make you happy. In time, you should be creating a routine that makes caring for yourself a priority. Stay tuned, I will be talking about how to create a self care routine and why it is so important to your overall health. 

For now, take a look at the following list and pick some things you can manage. Look for something that make you smile but more importantly, something that you can manage to work in as soon as possible. You don’t have to spend hours on this, even 15 minutes in the middle of a busy day. Once you have accomplished one, look for another on the list. Take your time to see how it affects you, your mental health and your day. Keep a list of what is working and what isn’t. Once you have done this you can move on to creating a self care routine that works for you.

  9. Write a thank you note and send it
  10. Sit outside and enjoy the sunshine
  11. Get a mani/pedi
  12. Buy a special piece of clothing you have always wanted
  13. Watch a matinee

  15. Buy a new pair of shoes
  16. Order some essential oils
  17. Plant some new plants in your garden
  18. Knit, sew, paint or draw
  19. Indulge in a cup of hot chocolate or your favourite chocolate bar
