Five facts about me.

Hello world, and welcome to my piece of the internet. I hope you will stick around for awhile.

The very first blog post is a lot like ripping off a band-aid – it just needs to happen. After a significant amount of thought, energy and wasted time I have decided to share five things about me as my first post. Simple and to the point. Let’s rip off the band-aid.

  1. I love lists.

Aren’t lists great? Easy to write and easy to read. You can skim quick or take your time. I list just about everywhere about everything. On my cell phone, I regularly use Google Keep to list on the go. I also keep a bullet journal to list in a more analog manner. Either way, lists help me run my life and dump my thoughts in an organized way (instead of floating around all crazy like in my head).

  1. I am Icelandic.

This is my favourite thing to share when forced to in awkward work gatherings. It is fun and the chances that anyone in the room can say the same thing is very unlikely.

My family came to Canada from Akureyri and Keflavik, Iceland. Upon arrival, they managed to find the coldest place to land and took up home in Manitoba. Rude. They could have made home in Vancouver but I guess they felt at home in the tundra. I will touch more on Iceland and being Icelandic again.

  1. I work for an airline and love to travel

I have worked for an airline for the last 13 years so it is no surprise I love to travel. I don’t get to as much as you would expect but defiantly more than the average person. I am excited to expand on this a great deal. I have all kinds of tips and tricks on how to travel cheap, fancy, with kids and without them. I have done the rugged European backpack thing and fancier explorations as well. Stay tuned for lots of travel talk!

  1. I am a Mom

I am a Mom to 3 awesome little people. As I write this they are 10, 3, and 4 weeks. If you had told me 10 years ago, I would have 3 kids I would have laughed – a lot. Nevertheless, here I am stumbling around motherhood raising up 2 girls and a boy.

Parenting is something you will get a lot of here. The how to’s and how to not’s of parenthood has drawn me to blogging. I am a bit of a voyeur and searching the stories of other people helps me get through my experience so I hope that sharing will help you.

  1. I am a vegetarian

The fifth fact was hard because there is so much I could (and will) share with you but this sticks out the most. I have not eaten meat in 23 years, my husband for 16 years and the children have never eaten meat. I share this tidbit because I am sure that it will come up from time to time. Feeding the littles is a HUGE part of parenthood and being meat-free makes it different for us.

There you have it! Five things about me that will help you get to know me better. Like I’ve already stated I hope you stick around and follow my through this new journey.
